Just a few days after the US government approved an $85 billion dollar rescue of American International Group (AIG), the corporation spent $440,000 for a posh retreat at an extremely expensive 5-star California resort by the beach south of Los Angeles (please see invoice below). The invoice for the September 22 through September 30 getaway includes $5,016 for cocktails at the Stone Hill Tavern, $23,380 for 75-minute massages at the Spa Gaucin, $147,301 for caviar and lobster banquets and $6,939 for golf.
