Curious 2004 AP Headline:
"Kenyan-born Obama all set for US Senate"Every Internet savvy user knows about the WayBack Machine or Internet archiving service located at http://www.archive.org/ The archive now has billions of web pages going back to 1996.
Among the billions of web pages are the pages of "The Standard Newspaper" that is located in Nairobi, Kenya. The archive of the June 27, 2004 newspaper has a very curious news report titled, "Kenyan-born Obama all set for US Senate." that was released by the Associated Press (AP). The news report is archived by the Way Back Machine at http://tinyurl.com/yz4jdju
Hopefully, the archived news report remains on file because in rare cases archive.org is forced by the US government to delete certain items on grounds of national security. We have had this experience. In either case, if you do not find the news report at http://tinyurl.com/yz4jdju contact La Voz de Aztlan and we will make the one available that we have archived on our own server.
The 2004 news report by the "The Standard" in Kenya, which has a website at http://www.eastandard.net , is puzzling because the Associated Press (AP) has a reputation for very high journalistic standards. Is it possible that the AP simply made a huge mistake back in 2004?
