Mexican National Elections
July 2, 2000
The Mexican National Elections will take place on July 2, 2000. The ruling Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI) may lose the presidency for the first time since it first took power after the Mexican Revolution. New electoral reforms are now in place including the ability for Mexican citizens residing in Aztlan and beyond to vote. Mexico will also elect 500 congressmen (diputados) and 128 senators.
