San Bernardino County Sheriff Deputy Ivory J. Webb was arrested and charged with the cowardly and brutal shooting of Senior Airman Elio Carrion who is assigned to the 2nd Security Forces Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana. Airman Carrion, on leave from Iraq, was shot three times on January 29 with no provocation in Chino, California by Deputy Webb in an incident that was caught on tape by Jose Luis Valdes. Mr. Valdes was later arrested by the sheriffs on trumped-up charges in a ploy to intimidate him. The criminal charges against Deputy Ivory J. Webb in the shooting of Senior Airman Elio Carrion is the first time that San Bernardino County prosecutors have charged a cop in an on-duty shooting, District Attorney Michael A. Ramos said in a news conference. Deputy Webb was released on $100,000 bail and the criminal trial is now pending.
