Introductory Note: The following letter was sent to the Orange County Register newspaper a few days before the fake "Letters to the Editor" by the Pentagon from supposedly US soldiers in Iraq were exposed. It now appears that a large number of "Letters to the Editor" that are published in major newspapers that express certain political opinions are actually "faked". These letters have become propaganda tools to disseminate disinformation by the newspapers themselves and at the same time take no responsibility for them.

Orange County RegisterRE: "Letter to the Editor Fraud"
Dear Ms. Cathy Taylor:
It has now been a week since we wrote to you to communicate our concern about the faked "Letter to the Editor" from a racist Anglo masquarading as a Mexican immigrant which you published prominently in the OC Register Sunday Edition of September 21, 2003.
We have noticed that you have now deleted the letter from your website archives at http://www2.ocregister.com/ocrweb/ocr/article.do?id=58077 but we have not received any written response from you expressing an apology or an explanation of what you intend to do so that this sort of grievious injustice to our Mexican-American community does not happen again.
Your Ms. M. Fisher explained to us that you were going to conduct an investigation and we are assuming that your findings are the same as ours - - that there is no Mexican immigrant, age 29, by the name of Alex Gomez that resides in San Juan Capistrano.
Unfortunately, your anti-Mexican staff under your supervision were much too eager to publish the bigoted statements from this imposter. Your staff even included a not too aesthetically pleasing photograph of Lt. Governor Cruz Bustamante. We are sure that the impostor Alex Gomez did not send in the picture along with his sham letter.
Ms. Taylor, your continued silence on this issue leads us to believe that the OC Register Newspaper has committed "journalistc fraud" of the worst kind. It is the kind of sinister fraud intended to hurt an entire community of people who make a sizeable part of the Orange County population.
The incident has attracted the attention of a wide group of citizens who have written to us. We have been informed that this incident will be discussed on the Los Angeles area radio station KPFK 90.7 FM tomorrow Tuesday between 9:30 PM - 10:30 PM. As a professional, you need to address this issue honestly and out front before the OC Register loses more credibility than it has historically already lost.
Respectfully,
Ernesto Cienfuegos
