The previous and following photographs were taken by La Voz de Aztlan during our coverage of the historic Rancho San Cristobal, Guanajuato, Mexico meeting between Presidents Vicente Fox Quezada of Mexico and George W. Bush of the United States. We want to thank the Republic of Mexico for granting La Voz de Aztlan press acreditation. Also, La Voz de Aztlan wishes to inform La Raza de Aztlan that personnel of the White House press room at the Hotel Real de Minas in Leon, Guanjuato treated La Voz de Aztlan in a disrespectful manner by the way in which they questioned our press credentials. A staff member of the U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Jeffrey Davidow said to us that we did not belong there and to go accross the street to the Mexican Salon de Prensa (Mexican Press Room) even after we had informed them that we were a publication based in the southwest U.S.A.
It appears that the embassy staff need some trainning on good manners. Bad manners of U.S. government personnel in Mexico could be interpreted wrongly and specially if the bad manners are exhibited against U.S. citizens of Mexican descent while on a press assignment in Mexico.
