Chris Simcox of the racist Tombstone MilitiaLos Angeles, Alta California - December 10, 2002 - (ACN) Chris Simcox, the vigilante who recently called for an armed militia and an uprising against Mexican immigrants in Arizona, left Los Angeles two years ago because his life here had become intolerable. Ask anyone who knew him about the kind of person he is , including his former wife, and their faces cringe. His neighbors at 3855 Inglewood Boulevard did not like him and avoided him like "the plague." They expressed worry that Simcox could soon "crack" and go on a rampage. His colleagues at Wildwood School, where he worked as a kindergarten teacher, would rather not remember or speak of him.

Chris Simcox's principal malady is that he is an incurable racist. Los Angeles, with its increasing racial and ethnic diversity, is very hard on people like Simcox. Many racists here rapidly fall apart. Some commit suicide, some go on shootings rampages and some like Chris Simcox, and Glenn Spencer, another failed anti-Mexican bigot from the Los Angeles area, pack up and go to the Arizona desert where they can take out their racist rage against defenseless Mexican migrant workers.

Simcox's life in Los Angeles started falling apart when he began exhibiting bizarre behavior about 3 year's ago. Apparently he became a delusional paranoiac at the same time he started to talk loudly about a "Mexican conspiracy" to take over Los Angeles. His wife became concerned when he started taking their 13 year old son to the shooting range in order to prepare him for an "upcoming race war." His wife eventually divorced him and fought a successfull court battle to take custody of her son. At the same time, because of his increasingly irrational racist behavior, his private educational consulting business collapsed.

Hope Boyd, the Principal at Wildwood School, is an extremely professional educator and was very careful when answering questions about her former employee. She said, "As I am sure you can understand, we are unable, without the consent of any former employee, to disclose the sort of information about work records that you have requested." Principal Hope Boyd, however added, "Wildwood School is built on a tradition of tolerance and commitment to diversity. We neither share nor condone the actions being touted by this militia. These views are antithetical to our school's cherished values. Additionally, I happen to be an African-American and am as deeply distressed as you and your readers are over the intolerable injustices that people of color continue to suffer at the hands of a few racist Americans. Your description of the murdered migrant workers was very painful to read but must be reported. I applaud your commitment to exposing these incidents so that none of us forgets how important it is for us to continue to work toward the goal of respect and justice for all human beings."

It is almost a certainty that Chris Simcox will end up in prison, a psychiatric ward or dead. Yesterday he said, "I dare the president of the United States to arrest me." He added, "I will protect this country against an invasion of Mexican aliens. I've been out on the border for 10 months, and I can tell you that we have to be armed." He also warned federal authorities including President Bush "not to interfere."

Simcox's recent statements are indicative of an unbalanced mind. They are symptoms of an acute neurosis. Border vigilantism must be stopped before more innocent people are murdered as were the two Mexican migrants workers near Red Rock, Arizona on October 18, 2002. Los Angeles said "good riddance" two years ago when Simcox left. We now pity Tombstone, Arizona.
