"Latino Mobilization Summit Conference" to be held at the Riverside Convention Center
The Latino Mobilization Summit Organizing Committee announced yesterday that due to an extraordinary response by leaders, organizations and the Mexicano/Latino communities in general, the "Latino Mobilization Summit Conference" will be held at the Riverside Convention Center in downtown Riverside, California. The Riverside Convention Center is located at 3443 Orange Street and the convention center is capable of accommodating the larger than expected number of attendees for the February 11 conference.
The "Latino Mobilization Summit Conference" was given birth at the emergency meeting held in San Bernardino, California on January 12, 2006 which was called by the National Alliance for Human Rights in response to the escalating racist and xenophobic attacks against the Mexicano/Latino communities. The response has been overwhelming and the conference had to be moved to larger and larger facilities.
A primary focus of the conference will be to formulate a plan of action to defeat the so called Sensenbrenner Legislation to be voted on by the US Senate in a few weeks. The Sensenbrenner Legislation proposes, among other things, to build a "Berlin Wall" along the US/Mexico border that would separate our families here and in Mexico. The Latino Mobilization Summit Organizing Committee is asking for your attendance at this critical and historic conference. Please pass this information to your organizations and leaders.
