by CUACUAHTZIN COLUMN LOS ANGELES: Jewish "Museum of Tolerance" is Intolerant

La Voz de Aztlan
June 20, 2001La Voz de Aztlan has covered many issues affecting La Raza since our first premier issue on January 1, 2000. These issues have included the vigilante hate crimes against harmless Mexican migrant workers crossing the US/Mexico border and the drug related Los Angeles Police corruption scandal. The coverage of both of these issues, as risky as they may be to our safety, do not compare to the troublesome experiences we have had in covering La Raza/Jewish relations in Alta California. One of the most troubling incidents occurred when we were attempting to obtain some information from, of all places, the Jewish "Museum of Tolerance" in Los Angeles.
Our negative experiences, which began when we first published an editorial titled "La Raza and Jews on Collision Course in Alta California", have forced us to undertake safety security measures that should not be necessary in the "Land of the Free" and in the "Land of the First Amendment". The editorial pointed out certain realities concerning La Raza/Jewish population demographics in California as compared to the distribution of economic and political power in the state. We thought that the editorial was factual, without animosity and simply called for contemplation of the issue from our readers. We were certainly not prepared for the onslaught of negative responses from nationally recognized organizations such as the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) and the National Council of La Raza (NCLR) as well as from a multitude of other national organizations, groups and individuals. The nature of the responses ranged from simple admonitions to actual "death threats".
We knew we must have touched a very sensitive cord somewhere. The responses heightened our curiosity and motivated us to experiment with the publishing of more articles and editorials on the issue. As we researched the issue locally in California and in Los Angeles, we started becoming aware that the "public" is actually being kept in the dark concerning the very nature of "political power" in this state and how it is being exercised. We became aware that certain "things" are not what they appear to be. The "real" reality is well hidden behind an intricate and carefully structured facade.
During the height of the incessant attacks upon La Voz de Aztlan, the City of Los Angeles was in the midst of electing the next mayor of the city. This had great consequences for La Raza because the city has the second largest Mexican population next to Mexico City and we had not had a mayor of the city since the end of the Mexican-American War in 1848. There was a Chicano candidate by the name of Antonio Villargairosa running against an Anglo by the name of James Hahn. The rapid rise to political power of Villargairosa in California and the nature of his campaign for mayor of Los Angeles points to the hidden political powers that dominate the state and to how certain Chicano groups and Chicano politicians are being manipulated by interests other than our own.
Presently, La Raza has no real economic or political power in California because it has become clear to La Voz de Aztlan that the real power is in the hands of those who are pulling the strings from behind the scenes. The mainstream and well known Chicano organizations like MALDEF, NCLR, NALEO, SVREP and many others are simply puppet organizations of those who fund them and it is not La Raza. The same is true of many Chicano politicians who are members of the Jewish dominated Democratic Party including Villaraigosa.
For many years, extremely wealthy and powerful Jewish interests have been investing in the development of a cadre of "puppet" Chicano political leaders and in the formation of Chicano "front" organizations. Many will recollect the Jewish involvement in the education and trainning of Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta through Saul Alinsky and Fred Ross of the Community Service Organization (CSO). The United Farm Workers (UFW) is now run by Jews regardless of the fact that they have a figurehead by the name of Arturo Rodriguez as president. The same is also true with the growing services labor unions that backed Villargairosa in Los Angeles in his bid for mayor of Los Angeles. The membership of these unions is predominately Mexican and the immediate leadership is also Mexican, but if you go high enough you will find who really runs them. There is no doubt that the Jewish investment has in many ways benefited La Raza, but, as sure as night follows day, there will be a time when we are going to have to pay the piper.
This brings us back to Antonio Villargairosa and the Jewish "Museum of Tolerance". A careful study of the rise of Antonio Villargairosa from a "high school dropout" in East Los Angeles, to president of the Jewish American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), to an elected California Assemblyman and eventually to Speaker of the California Assembly indicates without doubt who was managing him. The unabashed support given to him in terms of large sums of money by Jewish Moguls Ron Burkle and Eli Broad indicates who was funding him. Also, some of his major decisions while he was Speaker, show who he was really working for. These major decisions actually went against the interests of La Raza. Examples are his support of Assemblyman Richard Hertzberg to replace him as Speaker and his support of Ron Unz that proved disastrous for bilingual education both in California and in Arizona.
Finally, let us address the main topic of this article. Antonio Villargairosa made some startling remarks during the last campaign debate that took place at the Jewish "Museum of Tolerance." These remarks have escaped the mainstream media and other entities that should be concerned, principally the taxpayers of California but they did not escape the attention of La Voz de Aztlan. After a question by a news reporter concerning his views on race and Mexicans, Villargairosa seemed unprepared and surprised and stated the following:
"I put together over the last six years over 18 million dollars for this museum (Museum of Tolerance). That amount of money is unprecedented in the history of this state. I put the money together because I agree with the Rabbis who work her, Rabbi May, Rabbi Cooper . . ."
Now, for a Mexican like me, this is a shocking revelation! Eighteen million dollars is a lot of money for a museum with a definite political agenda and a well known "indoctrination program" involving hundreds of thousands of school children per year from local school districts that are forced to attend at $5.50 per head. La Voz de Aztlan thought that it would be a simple matter of calling the rabbi to get some honest information. How naive we were and what an additional shock we received. Through private sources we learned that the "Museum of Tolerance" is actually part of the Zionist Weisenthal Center run by a Rabbi Abraham Cooper. We thought that rabbis were holy men so we though nothing of calling him to ask some questions concerning the 18 million dollars put together by their lackey Villaraigosa. On the first call we were informed that Rabbi Cooper was in Washington D.C. and were told to call back three days later. We called back three days later and were informed that the rabbi was unavailable and the Director of Public Relations inquired about the nature of our call. When we explained, things turned ugly. The lady got very defensive and belligerent. She asked us to please wait pretending that she was attempting to direct our call but we got the distinct impression that they were attempting to trace our call. She accused us of intimidating and threatening them and when we asked her if she was recording the call she said "yes". Talk about "threats" and "tolerance"? It appears that the personnel of the "Museum of Tolerance" are themselves practicing what they preach against. What a "scam" they are perpetuating on the public. We have since learned that the Rabbi Cooper is actually a lobbyist in Washington D.C for the Zionist Movement in America and has spent millions of dollars attempting to pass laws against the "freedom of the press" on the Internet. He has testified before the U.S. Senate and wants tighter controls over web sites that question things like La Voz de Aztlan does. This way nobody will have the ability to question things like the 18 million dollars of taxpayers funds given him by Villargairosa.
We have since stop trying to obtain information from the "intolerant" people at the museum and instead have contacted our local state senator and state assemblyman. We just got an e-mail from our local assemblyman with the following information:
"Thank you for your recent email expressing concern for expenses collected for the Simon Wiesenthal Museum of Tolerance.
After reviewing previous budgets, it is apparent that there has been over $18 million appropriated to the Museum of Tolerance for various activities, ranging from tolerance training of peace officers to school teachers. Since this money was attached to the state budget, and the budget is predicated partially from numerous sales, use, and income taxes, the answer to your question is that taxpayer money has contributed to the funding of the Museum of Tolerance.
I identified funding for the Museum under the California Arts Council portion of the budget, typically referenced as Section 8260.
I appreciate your taking the time to express your concern on this matter. If I can be of additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact my office."
To Antonio Villargairosa ... "you are a disgrace to the race" and to Rabbi Cooper ... "La Raza is calling for a full accounting of the over 18 million dollars of our hard earned tax money!"
Interesting Note: Mr. Simon Wiesenthal is paid $250,000 per annum for the rights to use his name and has no connection with the center. Chief Rabbi Marvin Hier along with his wife draws an annual salary of over $750,000. It looks like the "holocaust" has now become a very lucrative industry for many rabbis.
